Wowbagger Productions was set up by Sara Kenney in 2011 to tell stories with a focus on science, environment and health. The ambition is to bring together artists, scientists, social scientists and humanities practitioners to work with the public, lived experience and learned experience experts. Sara is a creative whose spent 25+ years working in Science Engagement through TV, Film, Participatory Arts, Games, Comics and Events. We are currently transitioning Wowbagger to become an incubator organisation training young arts/science producers to develop and lead projects.
Why Wowbagger? Sara was struggling to find a company name so thought ‘Don’t Panic’ and turned to the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. She approached the ‘Douglas Adams Estate’ with a request to use a character name. They agreed and thus ‘Wowbagger Productions’ was born. "A man can dream can't he?" ― Wowbagger, whenever someone points out the impossibilities of fulfilling his self-appointed goal.
The company is evolving to an incubator model, where young arts/science producers lead intergenerational, intersectional & inter-species projects! Here are some of our freelance team:
